Ocean Village Cruises Closed

Ocean Village Cruises is to be closed as the Carnival Corporation rearrange their UK based operation.
Even though Island Cruises has been sold by Royal Caribbean, this was not enough to save Ocean Village Cruises and they will be run down with both ships switching to P&O Cruises Australia.
According to Carnival Corporation, the UK market will be better served with the current P&O Cruises fleet which is set to expand when Azure joins them in March 2010.
Cunard, one of the other Carnival Corporation owned cruise lines are also set to get a new ship, the Queen Elizabeth in 2010.

The original Ocean Village plays host to a fantastic entertainment venue called The Marquee. The largest of the ship’s entertainment hot spots has live bands, tribute acts plus cabarets and shows.
Tribute acts include Ronan Keating, Bee Gees, Cher, Kylie Minogue, Mick Hucknall, Neil Diamond, Madonna, Lionel Richie and the Blues Brothers. It that’s not enough for you there is always the old faithful – The Abba Singalong!

There is loads of things that are included on an Ocean Village Cruises but here’s some stuff that’s not: cruise travel Insurance; travel between your home and your chosen UK airport, airport hotels prior to departure from the UK, Ocean Village Action Ashore activities; coffee and drinks in the bar; all drinks and wines in the restaurant and in your cabin and cigarettes and tobacco.
Other things not included on an Ocean Village cruise are: dinner at La Luna or the Bistro; purchases at the ship’s shops; hairdressing, beauty and spa treatments, telephone calls, faxes and internet access; laundry Service and medical attention. Most of these things you would not expect to get free anyway but it’s nice to know in advance what you do and don’t get.

On Ocean Village 2 you will find loads of things to keep you entertained throughout your cruise, including: James Martin’s Bistro; Waterfront restaurant; Plantation restaurant; Mediterranean style deck restaurant, La Luna Restaurant, 4 entertainment venues; 8 bars; 4 shops ; Karma Spa, Seam and sauna zone; Karma Gym and Fitness, Hair and beauty salon; 2 swimming pools and 2 Jacuzzis.
Ocean Village 2 also has: a casino; Internet café; 3-deck atrium, Children’s and teenagers’ zones; night nursery; medical centre and 9 passenger lifts. If you can’t find anything to keep you amused amongst that lot then you really don’t like cruising!
